Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
Some links on LandedMoney.ca are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what I recommend.
What this means in plain language
When I link to a financial product or service — a bank account, a credit card, a robo-advisor, a money-transfer app — that link is sometimes an affiliate link. That means if you click it and sign up for the product, the company pays me a small commission. You pay nothing extra. The price you see is the price you pay.
This is the same idea behind every reputable Canadian personal-finance site (Ratehub, NerdWallet, MoneySense, GreedyRates, and so on). It’s how I keep this site free for newcomer families.
How it does not influence what I write
I only link to products I would (or do) recommend to my own family and friends. If a product has a downside — a fee trap, a confusing application process, a misleading promo — I will say so, even if I’d earn a commission for not saying so. The article comes first; the affiliate link comes after.
I am not paid by any company to publish a specific opinion. I am never told what to write. I don’t accept money to remove negative information about a product. If I ever did, I would tell you in the article.
Which links are affiliate links
You can identify affiliate links in two ways:
- They are tagged with
rel="sponsored"in the page source — the standard Google and FTC-recommended marker. - Articles that contain affiliate links include a short “some links earn commission” note near the top of the article, in addition to this site-wide disclosure.
Internal links (to other pages on this site), reference links (to canada.ca, the CRA, or other authoritative sources), and informational links (to a bank’s home page just to show what they look like) are not affiliate links.
Advertising (Google AdSense and partner networks)
This site may also display third-party advertisements served by Google AdSense and similar networks. These are clearly visible ad blocks — not editorial recommendations. The fact that an ad appears does not mean I endorse the advertiser. See the Privacy Policy for cookie and tracking details, and to opt out.
FTC and Canadian compliance
This disclosure is provided to comply with:
- The U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s endorsement guidelines
- Canada’s Competition Act and the CRTC’s CASL guidance on commercial communications
- Google AdSense and Google Search’s requirements around affiliate-link labeling
Your situation is unique
An affiliate link does not make a product right for you. Always verify the details with the provider and, ideally, with a licensed financial advisor who knows your full situation. The articles on this site are educational; they are not personal financial advice. See the Disclaimer for more.
Questions?
If you spot an affiliate link that isn’t clearly marked, or you want to know whether a specific product I’ve recommended is monetized, email me at hello@landedmoney.ca. I’ll always tell you straight.
